It’s spring! Days are longer, the sun reintroduces itself and flowers are in full bloom.

Spring is also the time when Clark County’s Farmers Markets get back in their groove. Fresh produce, handmade crafts, and prepared food are all on full display. No matter where you are in Clark County, a Farmers Market is easy to get to.

The first market to sprout, so to speak, is the Vancouver Farmers Market located in downtown Vancouver at 6th and Esther Streets. The Vancouver Farmers Market operates on Saturday (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) from the middle of March until late October.

The Vancouver Farmers Market offers “a diversity of fresh and local agriculture products, quality prepared foods, and original fine artisan products.” With more than 250 vendors on hand, the list of treasures is too long to present here. But check them out, you won’t be disappointed.

The Vancouver Farmers Market is located just west of Esther Short Park. The park has a large gazebo, a playground, a water feature for the kids to play in during the hotter days, and several benches to sit down and go through your newfound goodies.

Ridgefield WA Farmers Market

The month of May will see The Ridgefield Farmers Market open. This market begins every year the Saturday before Mother’s Day and continues until the first Saturday in October. The Ridgefield Market is currently held at Overlook Park at the end of Main Street in downtown Ridgefield.

This will be the 7th year for the Ridgefield Market and will feature everything you’d expect: produce, crafts, yummy desserts, and baked goods. In 2015, The Ridgefield Farmers Market offered a weekly giveaway, featuring a basket of goodies from participating vendors.

Overlook Park, fittingly, overlooks the National Wildlife Refuge and has recently had a facelift. It now features an amphitheater, a brick plaza, restrooms and historical information about the early settlement of the Native Americans.

Our next blog will cover two other Farmers Markets opening in May and June. See you then!
