Valentine’s
Day is known for love, and we all know a popular way to celebrate
love is with food. Romantic dinners and tempting sweets are what this
day is all about. If you’re wondering where to take your Valentine
for dinner, Clark County has so many amazing restaurants for the
perfect meal with your favorite person.
For a romantic
river view, there’s the new Vancouver Waterfront eateries, Wildfin
and Twigs.
For an intimate dining experience that will make you believe you’re
in Italy, there’s La
Bottega in Vancouver’s Uptown Village. For an urban
setting with the city to explore after your meal, check out Gray’s
at the Park inside the downtown Hilton.
In
case you don’t get those reservations made in time, don’t panic.
You can still have a very special evening at home. In fact, many
people prefer to stay in and prepare a home cooked meal for their
loved one, complete with a delicious dessert, of course.
Pasta
and meats are a classic choice for a romantic dinner. (Think Lady and
the Tramp sharing a plate of spaghetti and meatballs.) But overdoing
it on rich or heavy food isn’t always the best choice for the
occasion. Instead, try substituting the pasta for spiral zucchini
noodles, and instead of spicy meatballs, top with fresh shrimp in a
pesto parmesan sauce for a light and creamy alternative. Get the
recipe for recipe for Pesto Parmesan Zucchini Noodles With Shrimp
here.
For dessert, Chocolate
Dipped Strawberry Cheesecake bites or mini Salted
Caramel Molten Chocolate Cakes would be a heavenly
finish to this meal.
For the non-meat eaters, there are
plenty of delectable alternatives for a Very Vegan Valentine’s Day
meal such as Sweet
& Smoky Glazed Tofu Ham with Vegan
Chocolate Peanut Butter Hearts for dessert. (Note: the
total prep and cook time for the ham recipe is about six hours, so
give yourself plenty of time.)
When Valentine’s Day
falls on a work day, and you want to cook something a bit more
special, there are ways to put a “spice up” a quick and easy meal
such as turning an everyday Chicken Alfredo into Blackened
Chicken Alfredo. The cook time for this dish is just
30 minutes and there’s even a “light alfredo” alternative.
Some yummy, goo-ey Red
Velvet Cheesecake Brownies would be a quick and
scrumptious treat for the end of this meal.
Whatever your
plans for Valentine’s Day, remember the most important thing is
that you enjoy your time with loved ones. It’s not so much about
what you’re eating, but who you’re eating with…
