The Heights WA Real Estate
About The Heights Neighborhood
The Heights neighborhood is located in the south central portion of Vancouver, east of I-205 and just north of Highway 14. Homes can be quite luxurious in this part of town, with several homes topping the $1,000,000 value mark. There are cheaper homes to be had, although you’ll have to keep your eyes open.
With its proximity to I-205, getting to the Portland International Airport is a snap, often taking less than 15 minutes. By using Highway 14 to get to I-5, downtown Portland is just a few minutes more.
McLoughlin Middle School and Marshall Elementary school are found in the Heights neighborhood, both of which are part of the Vancouver School District. Fort Vancouver High School takes advantage of the student body diversity and is also known as the Center for International Studies. Fort Vancouver High also offers culinary, medical, and welding technology programs.
The Heights neighborhood features two parks, Carl Gustafson park and Leiser Crest park. Carl Gustafson is a 3.4-acre park originally planned as part of a planned community after World War II. The park features benches, picnic areas, an open lawn area, and a playground area. The Leiser Crest Park is over 4 acres of open area, playground equipment, sitting areas and a paved walkway.
Finally, the 450-bed PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is located just north of the neighborhood.
