Salmon Creek WA Real Estate
Salmon Creek covers over 6-square miles north of Vancouver, where the I-5 and I-205 freeways meet. The area features million dollar homes as well as more modestly priced duplexes. Located close to both major freeways in the area, people in Salmon Creek can get to the Portland International Airport in just over 20 minutes, a 25-minute drive to downtown Portland.
As part of the Vancouver School District, the Salmon Creek Neighborhood has two elementary schools – Chinook and Salmon Creek – as well as Alki Middle School and Skyview High School. The Skyview SMT Magnet program helps students interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects.
Perhaps the crown jewel of the neighborhood, though, is the Vancouver branch of Washington State University. Originally opened in 1996 with a few programs for the final two years of undergraduate work, WSUV now houses 35 fields of study, some covering all four-years of school.
The Salmon Creek Neighborhood offers plenty of shopping as well as dining and other entertainment opportunities. But the real appeal of the area is the natural beauty of the area and places to take advantage of the open spaces.
Salmon Creek Park, Klineline Pond, the Vancouver Girls Softball Association fields, and the Salmon Creek Trail are just a few ways to get out and enjoy the outside, especially during the summer months. Chinook, Whipple Creek and Stockford Village are a few of the smaller neighborhood parks.
Finally, the Salmon Creek Neighborhood is home to Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital. The full-service hospital opened in 2005 and stands as Southwest Washington’s most modern hospital.
