Lilac Days at Hulda Klager Gardens
When: April 21, 2018 – May 13, 2018, daily, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Every year for three weeks, the Hulda Klager Gardens hold Lilac Days, allowing visitors to buy lilacs, visit the 1880’s Victorian Klager home, and peruse the gift shop for lilac-inspired items. From their website: “The Gardens and historic buildings have been lovingly maintained by the Hulda Klager Lilac Society, a nonprofit volunteer organization. The Society fully funds the care and upkeep of the historical site from the proceeds of Lilac Days, dues and donations. With the help of our volunteers and members, the Society continues to carry on the work of growing and showing the beautiful lilacs including those hybridized by Hulda Klager many decades ago.”

2018 Tacos & Taps
When: May 4-5, 4-9 p.m.
Where: Clark County Food Bank, 6502 NE 47th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98661
Cost: $35 General Admission, $45 VIP Early Entry Admission
A fundraiser for the Clark County Food Bank, guests can sample gourmet taco creations from area chefs as well as local craft brews. There will be other entertainment as well, including live music, a ring toss, raffle prizes, and desserts. The Clark County Food Bank distributes 6.6 million pounds of food and 5.5 million meals to help alleviate hunger throughout the area.

Walk/Run for the Animals
When: May 5, 2018, 7:30 a.m. to noon.
Where: Esther Short Park, 301 W 8th St., Vancouver, WA 98660
Cost: $40-$60
Presented by the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, the event will host more than 2,000 people and 800 dogs taking part in two dog-friendly events: a 3-mile walk along the Columbia River or a timed 5k run through Fort Vancouver. After the walk or run, participants will meet back at Esther Short park for a beer tent, pet-friendly vendors, awards ceremony, and much more.

The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet
When: May 11-12
Where: Fries Auditorium at The Washington School for the Blind, 2214 E 13th S, Vancouver, WA 98661
Cost: $10 youth/senior and $12 adults, in advance
Ever wonder how to rhyme something with “Romeo and Juliet”? You may just get your chance when the Journey Theater Arts Group gives the Shakespeare play the Dr. Seuss treatment. There are five performances spread out over two days.

Dozer Day
When: May 19-20, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds, 17402 NE Delfel Rd, Ridgefield, WA 98642
Cost: $8-$10
A popular Clark County event, Dozer Days allows Tonka Truck-loving kids a chance to ride around in the real thing. Children can operate dump trucks, excavators, and dozers (of course) over the two-day event. In addition to the life size construction toys, there will be music, food, giveaways, and digging for treasures. Each child will receive a hard hat to wear during and commemorate the experience.
