Ridgefield’s Big Paddle

When: June 2, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Where: 111 W Division St., Ridgefield, WA 98642

Cost: $5, $20 for a group of six.

There’s something for everyone at Ridgefield’s Big Paddle, a flotilla of kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and more covering a five-mile, two-hour tour along Lake River. The trip will wind through the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge and on to the confluence with the Columbia River. 

Register online before the event or the morning of the event.

In addition to the float, there will be guided birding tours, hands-on activities, live music, food carts, beer garden, vendors, obstacle course, scavenger hunt, and much more!

Vancouver America Marathon & Half

When: June 3

Where: 301 W 8th St. Vancouver, WA 98660

Cost: $69-$89

Looking to qualify for the Boston Marathon? Here’s your chance. Running through the streets of downtown Vancouver and beyond, the Vancouver America Marathon and half marathon is ideal for both new marathoners and seasoned vets. The course has been certified accurate.

The Craft Beer & Wine Fest

When: June 8 – 5 pm to 10 pm; June 9 – noon to 10 pm; June 10 – noon to 7 pm

Where: 301 W 8th St. Vancouver, WA 98660

Cost: General admission $25.

With more than 50 craft brews and ciders, 150 craft wines, local bourbon, and more, the sixth annual Craft Beer and Wine Fest is a three day event held in Esther Short Park. There will also be food and live music, including Gold Dust, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band. Vendors on hand will feature jewelry, henna tattoos, artisan soap, and more!

Recycled Arts Festival

Cost: Free

Now in it’s13th year, the festival features works made from recycled, reused, and repurposed materials. From their website:

“See how people, just like you, are giving new life to old items that would otherwise have been lost in a landfill. Come out and be amazed at the artists’ creations, join your kids in expressing their “green side” by creating their own Eco-Art, or just relax and listen to some wonderful music (warning… tapping your feet or dancing may occur). There will also be all sorts of helpful information on how you can help improve Clark County’s environment. Can’t wait to see you there!”
