Without comic books, there would be no Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Batman or the rest of the superheroes we see on the big and small screens. I Like Comic Con celebrates the comic books of yesterday and today, all genres, and will feature guest writers, artists, creators. Artist Alley, cosplay and exhibitors will also be on full display.

Magenta Theater presents “Jeeves Intervenes”

Price: $20 in advance, $22 at the door

The first show of Magenta Theater’s 16th season, “Jeeves Intervenes” follows Bertie Wooster and Eustace Bassington-Bassington as they scheme to avoid an unwanted marriage and an unwanted job respectively. When those plans inevitably go awry, it’s up to manservant Jeeves to save the day. The play is set in 1928 high-society London and directed by Jaynie Roberts.

Price: $425 to register a team

Featuring both boys and girls tournaments, the Presidents Day Tournament of Champions will feature teams playing over a three-day period from first through eighth grades and various skill levels. In its 18th year, the tournament has seen 10,000 teams from 48 states and 31 NBA lottery picks. This is a basketball junky’s dream!

Green Gala

When: February 22, 2018, from 6-7:30 p.m.

Where: Kiggins Theater, 1011 Main St., Vancouver, WA, 98660

Price: Free

Hosted by Clark County, the Green Gala will celebrate all things sustainable in our community. Awards will be handed out and the keynote speaker from Waste Not Food Taxi will discuss how to reduce food waste and fight hunger. The Green Business of the Year award will be presented to one large business (26 or more employees) and one small (25 and less employees) that best exemplify sustainability in their business practices.

Other awards include the Green Apple (for an individual working in schools), Green Neighbor (for a neighborhood volunteer), and Master Composter Recycler Superstar.
